Game Classification

Scoregasm is a fast-paced single arena shooter. It is set in space where the player receives a message that Earth is under attack. The aliens have set up a network of bases the player needs to go through an defeat.

The player controls a single ship in different types of arenas. The ship is controlled through the keyboard and the mouse is used to aim and shoot in any direction. Enemies appear from all directions and raking in combos is rewarded. Shooting 30 enemies quickly provides triple shots and a 100 is rewarded with homing missiles. When the opposition gets to close, a close range attack can be performed. It generates a circle around the player's ship that destroys opponents and bullets, but requires some time to recharge. Enemies defeated that way provide double points.

Each arena is completely different in size, shape, the type of enemies and possible obstacles such as rotating lasers, but it never is larger than a single screen arena. In the main game mode, up to 43 different levels can be opened with a different difficulty level, leading to a branching path to make the series of levels different for each sessions. Optionally players can complete additional challenges to open up exits.

The game supports worldwide leaderboards for the best scores and has achievements. [source:mobygames]
