Secrets of the Dragon Wheel In the early 20th century, Epiphany O'Day is a young archaeologist researching the legendary Dragon Wheel of Shaanxi, a mystical artifact from ancient China. Epiphany's theories are ridiculed by her peers at the university of Paris, culminating with the academic board removing her teaching position from the institution. As the last resort, she writes a letter to an old acquaintance, a professor living in Istanbul. He invites her to join him in Turkey and help investigate a mysterious device. As she embarks on a train to the East, a series of bizarre accidents and encounters start to reveal more details about a greater mystery.

Secrets of the Dragon Wheel is a standard point-and-click adventure with simple puzzles and hidden object hunts created for the casual market. Most of the time, the objective is to gather a series of items and use them to solve all the puzzles found on the available locations. Some of the necessary tools are received after completing a hidden object challenge, taking place on a separate screen where all the items listed at the bottom have to be found, on scenes filled with assorted paraphernalia scattered around the scenery. The hint button at the bottom-right corner shows the position of one of the required items when activated, but takes some time to recharge after use.

The objects are stored inside the inventory at the left side of the screen, that can be selected to show its contents on a series of slots. The items have to be dragged and dropped from their slots to an interactive portion of the scenery to perform an action or complete a task. Mini-games take place on separate screens, where mechanisms have to be manipulated directly to trace the twisting lines of an oriental rug, persuade other characters by flipping tiles on a grid in the correct order, connect pieces of a segmented scroll by matching the shape of their indentations, remove all the fuses from a circuit in the correct sequence, guide Epiphany through a labyrinth and complete similar challenges.
