Set in the year 1891, Sherlock Holmes: The Official Movie Game features the famous detective Sherlock Holmes and his loyal friend Dr. Watson. They become involved in a strange murder case related to a secret cult of Lord Blackwood. Players control Holmes or Dr. Watson (or sometimes both of them) in each level, fight enemies, collect items and solve puzzles to get to the goal. Holmes fights with his powerful punches and kicks, while Watson uses his gun with further distance and less damage.

Sherlock Holmes: The Official Movie Game is an action game based on the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, though there are some changes in the plot. Players move the character to the final goal while trying to sweep out enemies on the way. Depending on the context, not all people are enemies; players can talk to some of them to get information. Sometimes, between a conversation, players have multiple choices to choose what your character will respond, though choices don't affect the game much. The Genius Vision icon helps players identify suspicious places so that players can move on. Collected items are stored in a chest. Items are various, but players can only use health restorers anytime; the other items can only be used in certain places.

The graphics are in isometric 2D. When players reach the goal, the game will be automatically saved. Depending on the final score of each level, there are 3 kinds of ranking: S, A and B. [source:mobygames]
