Siege Hero is a physics puzzle games where the player has to knock down buildings to kill the bad guys using as few throws as possible. At the same time he has to make sure the peasants or maidens stay unharmed. It's similar to Angry Birds, except it's less about trail-and-error to aim your shots just right, and it has more emphasise on the puzzle element as you try to find the weak spot in each of the structures.
You can tap anywhere to shoot, or tap and hold down to get a telescope view and easily hit any spot exactly where you want it. In each level you get several projectiles that you can only use in a fixed order. The projectiles include stones, bombs, fire jars, oil barrels and grappling hooks. On some levels you get a group of three of the same projectiles, for example three stones or three bombs. The oil barrels don't damage the building but takes out the humans. The grappling hook can be used to pull a single block away from the structure.
The game is all about finding the weak spots in the structures. The buildings are made of blocks of stone, wood, metal and other materials. After each shot, the blocks and debris will push, pull and roll or slide over other blocks according to the laws of simulated physics.
The game starts with "Fortress age" then "Age of discovery", "Age of pirates", "Age of cowboys" etc. An "age" has three parts of 21 levels, each with its own theme illustrated with bright and cute cartoon-like graphics. There is no single story line, but each theme will start with a short introduction sequence, showing a group of maidens who are then besieged by a group of bad guys; Peasants are enslaved by evil shogun, a village is invaded by vikings, a maiden in a castle attacked by knights, villagers are led into a volcano by savages, a village is sieged by Spanish conquistadors etc.
