StarCalibur is an arcade style space combat game that takes the player to the 24th century, battling an alien race that resembles some kind of sea dwellers. The story is all about lack of communication due to missing translation abilities and the resulting struggle.
The action takes place on board of 3 different starfighter types and in some missions in command of a turret. The environment can vary from mission to mission, taking place in free space or planet surface environments. During the rather linear course of the game the player can acquire new weapons and can upgrade his ship's characteristics.
