Stream is a short, monochromatic game about time manipulation. It uses the same concept previously explored in Braid, The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom and Cursor*10 where the player can record certain actions and then cooperate with past versions of the player to overcome obstacles. In this game it is possible to work with more than two clones at once in more complex situations.
The player controls a hooded man who needs to travel through different screens. He can run and shoot, but the most important game mechanic is creating wormholes. By pressing a key, all actions following that are recorded. As soon as the key is pressed a second time, the action is looped and a new copy of the man appears, which you can use to interact with the first one. When the sequence of the first copy is over, he vanishes automatically. This technique needs to be used to keep doors open or platforms down, and to avoid and confuse guards. Shooting is only used to activate cogs, as guards cannot be taken out.
