Super Nisqually Super Nisqually is a puzzle game, where your job is to remove a certain number of blocks from the playfield, while avoiding dead ends.

A level consists of a square playfield, like 8 by 8 rows (level 1), which is filled with many different colored blocks. When you select one block, you have the ability to exchange this block with any of the (max) 4 adjacent blocks. As soon as three identical blocks are aligned in a horizontal or vertical row, they will be removed. Once you removed the critical amount of blocks (i.e. 56 of out 64 at level 1), you have the opportunity to reach level two (and then so on) once all possible combinations are made. But when you made all possible combinations before you reach the critical amount needed, the game will end.

There are two situations, where you run into a dead end. When there are five blocks of a kind left in the playfield, but you just combine three blocks, those two can't be removed anymore. Situation two arises, when you deplete a horizontal row completely, in this case you have a gap, which will divide the playfield into two playfields, and each will be separated until the end of the level.

In each level, you have all the time you want. However, the faster you are, the more Bonus Points you get. Those are counting down. So if you need too long, they are just zero.

The farther you progress in the game, the more equal will be the critical amount and the total amount of blocks, but also the bigger are the bonus points. [source:mobygames]
