Game Classification

USA Bass Championship is a sport fishing game. The player competes in an unnamed tournament versus a number of computer controlled opponents to see who can catch the most fish. A variety of lakes are fished, and each lake is divided into separate areas.

Players view their boat from behind in a 3rd person perspective. Once the go signal is given at the starting point, the participant boats all race off to try to find the best fishing location. The player can move their boat left and right in the water, speed up and slow down. At any time the player can enter fishing mode and decide to fish that spot. The player can choose between multiple lures (bonus lure powerups can sometimes be found while driving the boat) and then casts out the line. The player can then rotate the camera while waiting for a fish to bite, reel in the fishing rod or cut the line.

Initially players can only compete on Long Lake and must successfully win before other lakes become accessible. [source:mobygames]
