War Front: Turning Point takes place in an alternate universe where Hitler is assassinated during WWII during a phase of Russian expansion. The replacement German leader unites Germany with the Allies in an effort to defeat the Russians. The story is played out in cutscenes with a B-Movie feel in terms of delivery and dialogue.
This is your standard base building and resource collecting RTS like Command & Conquer and Warcraft. Building a plethora of units and ploughing them at the enemy is the main course of gameplay.
The game features most of the standard World War 2 units (Shermans, Me-262s, rocket launchers) and (like Command & Conquer: Generals) hero units with special abilities, such as extra damage or stronger armor). New weapons add a sci-fi element: The Allies have earthquake bombs and shield boosters; the Germans have armored Mechs and ultra-destructive Zeppelins; the Russians have ice bombs (which freezes everything in sight) and underground carriers for a stealth element. You can take control of specific units FPS-style, but be careful not to lose sight of the bigger picture.
The single player mission allows the player to play the Allied or German side. There are primary and secondary objectives; primary usually involves destroying a base, but secondary will often improve your situation in later missions. In multiplayer, the player will be allowed to play Allied, German and Russian.
