Dr. Cliché has built two bombs to turn the entire world to ice. The first one failed, but now the clock is ticking. Within a Deep Forest is a platformer where the players guides a ball. There are two main areas, the Harara Mountains, a practice area, and Pinewood Heights where the real game takes place. The ball is able to bounce, with additional keys to control movement, steady the ball and an option to commit suicide.
Pinewood Heights consists of different sublevels that have the player unlock up to 10 different ball types, each with different abilities. Some can break through barriers, others shatter when colliding or are resistant to cold, a range of balls provides an increased jump height, and there is even an option to fly. Next to pixel-perfect timing and jumping, the choice of ball, often in the same level, is crucial to solve the many puzzles. Focus is on the platform aspect, with only a small amount of enemies and no means of attack. The ball types can not be selected at will, but only at save points after dying or when entering a new area.
The levels have different themes and are all drawn in pixel art, with ambient music to go along. There are 2 difficulty levels, an unlockable speedrun mode with online high scores (1.1.2 or earlier) and 3 secret levels (third one added in a later update).
