Saul Meyers was once a member of a special military squad. During one of the missions, his squad was nearly annihilated; witnessing the only other survivor descending into insanity, Saul retired from the military. Meanwhile, a new powerful drug has surfaced in a troubled region somewhere in the Caribbean. The prosperity of the drug lords and the suffering of the victims are no longer possible to ignore. The government re-installs Saul as a special agent, and sends him on his most dangerous mission so far.
Xenus II: White Gold is a prequel to Boiling Point: Road to Hell. Similarly to its predecessor, the game is a combination of first-person shooter with free-roaming "sandbox" exploration, driving, and role-playing elements. As in the previous game, there are seven factions (civilians, government, mafia, guerrillas, bandits, natives, and CIA) Saul can perform missions for, which is needed to advance the story. The setting this time is an archipelago, and getting access to different islands is one of the main objectives Saul will have to accomplish.
The RPG system has been re-designed. Instead of improving skills by practicing, the player receives a set amount of experience points for completing quests, which can be then distributed to improve Saul's "perks". These perks range from weapon proficiencies and combat abilities to various immunities and skills, e.g. bartering.
