After the mortal strife between the twin brothers Jiang Xiaoyu and Hua Wuque was finally over, Hua Wuque adopted his real family named Jiang. His son Jiang Yun was raised by the chairman of the Chouhuang palace. Worried about the boy, Hua Wuque went to visit him. This was the last meeting of the brothers, since neither Hua Wuque nor his son ever returned.

Eight years later, Jiang Xiaoyu was still determined to find his lost brother and nephew. His own son, Jiang Xia, inherited the father's slightly demonic and sly nature. Jiang Xia begins the search for his cousin, hoping to unite the family again. But fate is not to be stopped, and it plays the old tragedy again...

Xin Juedai Shuangjiao 3 is a direct continuation of the story that was told in its two predecessors. However, unlike the previous games, it is not directly based on Gu Long's original novel. Graphically, the game also uses pre-rendered backgrounds and small 3D character models. The battle engine is active time, similar to the one of Final Fantasy.
