Zenith is a freeware remake of Geoff Crammond's The Sentinel. You start each game in the valleys of a hostile landscape, with your consciousness occupying a host shell. To win the game, you must use your limited supply of energy wisely, quickly gain height while avoiding the stare of the Sentinel, take advantage of any opportunities to gain energy, and when you're high enough, absorb the Sentinel from its pedestal at the top of the landscape.
The style remains simple, following on from the original game, rather than The Sentinel Returns. The gameplay uses 'mouselook' combined with the original keyboard control. Basic prompts guide the player at first, and these hints can be switched off when they are no longer needed. Landscapes are generated randomly, at a chosen difficulty, and have more variety than those of the original version.
