Zombie Bowl-O-Rama is a 3D bowling game using the same engine that's behind the Elf Bowling series, replacing the pins with zombies and adding several power-ups that alter the lane and other parameters. Two players take turns throwing the ball and trying to make a higher score than the adversary, that can be human or computer controlled. The lane has several floating gravestones, each with a power-up that can be collected by the traveling ball. At the start of each turn, the players aim the ball by moving it sideways and pressing a button to bring up the power gauge, a coffin-shaped meter where the initial ball speed has to be set. After being released, the ball can be guided to the right direction by the player, moving it away from the gutters towards the group of zombies.
The available power-ups are displayed on lists for each player framing the screen, and can be used by both at the start of each turn. The player can activate helpful powers, while the opponent can set obstacles and other hindrances. Some of the powers change the ball, making it more or less powerful and accurate. Others modify the lane, making it shorter, slippery or blocked with obstacles. Some affect the zombies, making them easier or harder to hit. A few replace the ball with a gun that has to be aimed and shot at the zombies. A special gravestone called Zombie-Nator combines three random power-ups at once.
